Chris Jericho was shoved from the top of the Blood & Guts cage on last night's special episode of AEW Dynamite, with MJF twisting the knife after his Pinnacle stable beat The Inner Circle.

MJF threatening to push Jericho led to the finish. Screaming at The Inner Circle to surrender or face watching their leader plummet to the floor, MJF drew the desired response from Sammy Guevara, who gave up on his team's behalf following a long, bloody match.

Then, MJF did it anyway. Jericho went tumbling down onto the padded ramp below, softening his landing.

The visual has already drawn criticism online, including from NXT's Shotzi Blackheart, who trolled the bump on Twitter:-

A hoot, but Chris Jericho is still 50 years old. This took balls regardless.

AEW's version of WarGames emphasised heat and hatred where NXT's recent incarnations are typically more about high spots. That isn't to say Blood & Guts was without its adrenaline-pumping moments, as Sammy Guevara entered a particularly explosive performance in a bout updated for the modern fan's palates, but this was closer to WarGames' original blueprint.

Which was perhaps to be expected, given Cody Rhodes' father, Dusty, devised the gimmick in the first place.
