Chris Jericho To Retire At AEW All Out 2021?
The first AEW World Champion puts his career on the line against MJF on 5 September.
Chris Jericho will put his professional wrestling career on the line when he wrestles MJF at AEW All Out 2021 on 5 September.
This was announced during last night's episode of Dynamite, which saw Jericho address his future in the sport in a pre-advertised segment. Having fallen to MJF in his fifth and final Labor of Jericho last week, the inaugural AEW World Champion claimed that he was still haunted by his former protègè, saying his inner torment wasn't going to stop until he beat the 25-year-old.
Jericho threw down the challenge and stipulation. This drew MJF from the back, with the Pinnacle leader stating that while being able to say "I tapped out Chris Jericho" is cool, "I ended Chris Jericho" would be legendary, so he accepted. The match is now set for the pay-per-view.
MJF currently boasts a 2-0 singles record against Jericho, whom he first defeated to gain entrance to the Inner Circle at Full Gear 2020. This was a key point in a storyline that eventually led to MJF betraying his mentor, The Pinnacle's formation, and now the All Out match.
Jericho vs. MJF III will sit alongside Christian Cage vs. Kenny Omega and CM Punk vs. Darby Allin as one of the PPV's biggest bouts.
