Less than two months after returning to the ring with WWE at Royal Rumble 2021, Captain Charisma was unveiled as AEW's big new signing at tonight's Revolution 2021 pay-per-view.

Cage appeared towards the back end of the show, after the Face of the Revolution ladder match. It was a short, simple segment, with Christian coming out, hitting the ring, signing his contract, and leaving, soundtracked by his old-school TNA theme.

There's currently no word on how long AEW has signed the 47-year-old, though Tony Khan claimed before the event that it'd be a multi-year deal.

This week's episode of Dynamite saw Wight promise a "hall of fame worthy" debut at Revolution. Tony Khan amplified the hype by confirming one of his favourite wrestlers ever would be signing a long-term contract with the promotion, with the likes of CM Punk, Batista, and Brock Lesnar all speculated up to the event itself.

That "hall of fame worthy" line was AEW showing its hand, as Christian has never been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, though his name features highly on many a fan's HOF wishlist. For now, that may need to wait.
