Christian Cage's in-ring AEW debut is set to go down on next week's Dynamite, with the former WWE star wrestling Frankie Kazarian one-on-one.

This was set up via a backstage segment on last night's show. Cage was shown conversing with Dante Martin and the Hollywood Blonds ahead of their match with The Pinnacle, when Dasha Gonzalez walked up for an interview.

Kazarian interrupted. The SoCal Uncensored man was friendly and prickly at the same time, joking around with his old TNA rostermate before asking when the "Work" part of Cage's new "Out Work Everyone" mantra kicks in. This led to Christian challenging Kazarian for next week, with Kaz quick to accept, formalising the booking.

Cage debuted for AEW at Revolution 2021 earlier this month, arriving as the big hall of fame worthy surprise promised by Paul Wight ahead of the event. He has been limited to backstage segments and an in-ring confrontation with AEW World Champion Kenny Omega thus far.

Kazarian, meanwhile, is currently locked-in for a Tag Team Title shot alongside Christopher Daniels, as SCU get ready to face whoever wins the upcoming match between The Young Bucks and PAC and Rey Fenix. Daniels and Kazarian will split up following their next tag loss.
