Clearwater Police Department Issue Statement On Hulk Hogan's Death (WWE News)

Police detail sad report on the recent passing of WWE legend Hulk Hogan.

The wrestling world continues to react to news that industry icon Hulk Hogan has died aged 71. The WWE legend passed away at his home in Clearwater, Florida on Thursday 24 July 2025, reportedly following a cardiac arrest. Since then, other titans of the wrestling business like Vince McMahon, Eric Bischoff, Sting, Ric Flair, Steve Austin and many more have paid tribute to the fallen great.

Now, the Clearwater Police Department have released a short statement that details the circumstances around Hulk's passing, when they were notified that something was wrong, and what happened next. The statement reads:

"Clearwater Fire Department and Clearwater Police Department personnel responded to a medical call at 9:51 a.m. today in the 1000 block of Eldorado Avenue on Clearwater Beach. The nature of the call was for a cardiac arrest. A 71-year-old resident, Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews before being taken by Sunstar to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased".

WWE themselves posted a lengthy tribute to Hogan honouring his impact, legacy and career on their official website. Full thoughts and prayers obviously go to the entire family and Hulk's closest friends. They must be experiencing unimaginable grief right now, and they deserve full support from the wider pro wrestling community.

Hogan's death is one of the biggest things to happen in wrestling ever. That speaks volumes about the imprint he made on the industry as a whole. To many people, Hulk still is wrestling. That may never change.
