CM Punk Asks The Rock To Call Him During WWE SmackDown's FOX Premiere
Punk wants The Great One to call him live on air this Friday.
As CM Punk continues to soften his stance on working with WWE once again, The Straight-Edge Superstar has asked The Rock to call him during The Great One’s appearance on SmackDown Live this Friday.
During today’s appearance on The Kevin & Bean Show to promote Girl on the Third Floor, Punk was inevitably asked about WWE. To be precise, he was at one point asked whether he would be making an appearance on SmackDown’s FOX premiere later this week.
The multiple-time World Champion joked, “When is SmackDown, is that tonight?” before later encouraging The Rock to give him a call live from the ring on Friday night.
Back in 2017, The Rock responded to a rampant Raw crowd’s chants of CM Punk by actually calling The Second City Saint right there and then. Unfortunately, Punk was unable to answer the call or get cell signal on that night.
Teasing that Rocky should try calling him again, Punk added, “I enjoy The Rock, I do. And I’m not trying to put this out… but do you remember the last time The Rock was in the Staples Center? Let’s do it again. When is this show, next Friday? Dwayne, call me Friday.”
Of course, this was all very much tongue-in-cheek from CM Punk, but this is sure to only add further fuel to the fire that he may eventually return to WWE.
Most recently, Punk did some on-camera tests for WWE’s new
FS1 studio show, WWE Backstage. If the Voice of the Voiceless does end
up landing that gig, he’d technically be employed by FOX – although obviously would
be discussing WWE topics alongside WWE talents in a WWE-approved environment.
