CM Punk will officially return to AEW for the debut of its new Saturday night brand, Collision, on 17 June.

AEW founder and president Tony Khan confirmed as much during last night's Dynamite. A short, straightforward announcement saw Khan confirm Punk's Collision participation in a pretaped segment, drawing what sounded like a loud, positive crowd reaction in San Diego, California.

Collision's maiden voyage sets sail from Chicago, IL's United Center. Andrade El Idolo, Thunder Rosa, Miro, and Powerhouse Hobbs are amongst the wrestlers already locked in for the new imprint, which will reportedly coincide with AEW launching a brand split.

Khan has been slow-dripping AEW fans the Collision news for several weeks now. Last week, he confirmed Chicago, IL as the debut location, stopping short of announcing Punk's comeback.

Punk has been out of AEW action since All Out 2022 last September, where he and Ace Steel brawled with Kenny Omega and The Young Bucks after an incendiary post-show media scrum. Steel, the only person to be fired in the incident's aftermath, has been brought back to work with Punk, though he won't be on the road for Collision.
