CM Punk REJECTS Forbidden Door Dream Match
AEW's CM Punk has no interest in facing this NJPW star at Forbidden Door.
CM Punk has claimed to have no interest in wrestling New Japan Pro Wrestling star KENTA at the first AEW/NJPW collaborative event, Forbidden Door, on 26 June.
Interviewed by ComicBook.com, the AEW World Championship contender offered a succinct response when asked if he had any interest in facing KENTA, who has been campaigning for the match on Twitter:-
No.
Fair enough.
KENTA, who has never been shy of throwing shade at Punk for using the same finishing move as him (the Go 2 Sleep, which KENTA innovated years before Punk's adoption of it), began targeting a match with the 43-year-old as soon as AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door was announced:-

Now, KENTA has offered the following in response to Punk's apparent rejection:-
Hahaha. Perfect answer.Zero interest and keep using MY finish. What a garbage ??? https://t.co/tfCGN7s7yV pic.twitter.com/kmtRPXnDER

Whether or not Punk was working in his reply remains to be seen. Nonetheless, he is spurning what would be a first-time match with KENTA, with whom he has never crossed paths in the ring, even during their shared time in Ring Of Honor in the mid-2000s.
KENTA has not wrestled since getting injured in a brutal No Disqualification match with NJPW legend Hiroshi Tanahashi at Wrestle Kingdom 16 (5 January). Punk, meanwhile, has a bout with AEW World Champion 'Hangman' Adam Page set for Double Or Nothing 2022 on 29 May.
