CM Punk will appear on television this coming weekend, as a featured guest on AMC's The Talking Dead. The show airs on Sunday night immediately after The Walking Dead, with a panel of guests discussing the horror drama. Considering he doesn't appear on WWE Raw tonight or any other show before Sunday, the appearance will mark the first time we have heard from Punk since his WWE walkout in January. Punk, a self claimed Walking Dead addict, may choose to only talk about AMC's zombie drama, but there could be a chance he discusses his current situation - host Chris Hardwick or the live audience questions could prompt Punk to talk about his WWE status. Punk previously appeared on the Talking Dead in 2012, an occasion which left the star frustrated due to WWE's failure to promote the appearance. Announced for this weekend he was described as "Superfan Phil Brooks aka CM Punk", which to some is being viewed as an indication of Brooks further distancing himself from WWE and his CM Punk persona. It isn't a case of Brooks being unable to use the CM Punk name due to legalities, as he has owned the name since before his 2006 WWE debut. It's thought that WWE own the merchandising rights to the name 'CM Punk' but Brooks is free to use it in all other purposes. The Punk appearance is unlinked to WWE and could be an issue for some in that company given Brooks is seemingly taking bookings when under WWE contract and technically AWOL. One fan forum has offered the theory that Punk will return on Raw as part of Hulk Hogan's major announcement, and this Sunday is simply part of Punk's Wrestlemania promotion. That's very unlikely. Punk is a big Walking Dead fan, there's a chance he won't even mention his WWE status during his appearance this coming weekend.
