CM Punk passed comment on All Elite Wrestling's recent ratings in an instagram reply to current AEW World Heavyweight Champion Maxwell Jacob Friedman.

A cute gag in response to another one, Punk left the comment on a post by MJF toasting two Pro Wrestling Illustrated 2022 awards he'd won, one of which was "Feud Of The Year" alongside Punk himself. 'The Salt Of The Earth' put tape over Punk's name on the plaque, resulting in the former Champion replying "Maybe find some tape for the ratings so nobody sees those either".

Punk was referencing a viewership and demo slide AEW Dynamite had been experiencing for several months, though it's worth noting that the trend was reversed for Wednesday 11th January's edition of the show. The event netted 967,000 viewers with a 0.33 in the 18-49 demographic, its highest since September 2022.

It's unknown what terms the former rivals are on since Punk was last a part of the organisation back in September 2022, but the two seemed a lock to feud over the AEW Championship Friedman eventually lifted from Jon Moxley at Full Gear.
