A CM Punk tweet has again given audiences scope to dream big for his possible in-ring return.

Responding to the above graphic tweeted from the @WWEOnFox account, Punk posted a gif of his fourth wall-breaking wave from his iconic 2011 "pipe bomb" promo. Sporting a mile-wide grin and Steve Austin tee that night, Punk's pointed shirt selection was just one of the times during his full time career that he alluded to a possible clash with 'The Rattlesnake'. This, gleefully, was merely the latest.

'The Voice Of The Voiceless' has proven deft with 280 characters or less over the past few years, knowingly giving just enough to a fanbase that hangs on every one of his wrestling-based tweets. As a new personality on Fox's WWE Backstage, he'll have been mindful of the engagement such a response could trigger, all while keeping a fan favourite conversation in the ether.

His repeated inferences that he's a Fox staffer rather than a WWE one have helped draw a line between one and the other for the time being, but this close connection will persistently trigger talk of the return whether the former WWE Champion has any true intent or not. And that, (un?)fortunately for Punk, is the bottom line.
