CM Punk Wants THIS ROH Monster In AEW
Here's who Ring Of Honor legend CM Punk mentioned as an ROH name he'd like to see in AEW...
CM Punk has pinpointed Brody King as a Ring of Honor name he'd like to see on the AEW roster.
Speaking during the post-Full Gear 2021 media scrum this weekend, Punk brought King up while discussing the Sinclair-helmed promotion's current plight, with the promotion set to go on hiatus between December and April (h/t Fightful):-
"I mean, I think it sucks that the place is going to go out of business and people are going to lose their jobs. I'd like to see Brody King here. Man, there's so much talent there. There's so much talent here. I'm sure you're going to see -- I didn't even know Lethal was here until it happened. I'm sure you're going to see different people. It's an exciting time."
ROH's late-October hiatus announcement came with the news that the company was releasing all contracted talent. As well as performing as an ROH regular, King often wrestles on NJPW's United States imprint, STRONG.
Standing at 6'5", King also serves as one half of The Kings of the Black Throne with AEW's Malakai Black. The duo captured the vacant PWG World Tag Team Titles at Threemendous VI on 26 September.
Punk, meanwhile, is one of the most important figures in ROH history, having been part of a core group of main-eventers (alongside the likes of Bryan Danielson and Samoa Joe) at least partly responsible for the group's rise as the most influential indie wrestling organisation in history during the 2000s.
