CM Punk's pre-match confrontation with the New Bloodline was not part of the WWE Survivor Series 2024 script.

Before the men's WarGame match pitting a Roman Reigns-led OG Bloodline against Solo Sikoa's new crew, Punk, while making his entrance, walked up to the heel unit's cage. With four of his opponents locked behind bars, Punk shoved Bronson Reed in the face, sparking an angry kayfabe reaction from Reed, Jacob Fatu, and Tonga Loa.

Per Ibou of WrestlePurists, this wasn't on the script. Punk called an audible.

Punk, Reigns, The Usos, and Sammy Zayn defeated Reed, Sikoa, Loa, Fatu, and Tama Tonga to win Survivor Series 2024's main event. Solo, the OG Bloodline's leader, was left stranded without help for the finish. Jimmy and Jey Uso struck him with three Superkicks, Sami Zayn hit a Helluva Kick, Punk a GTS, and Reigns a spear for the pinfall victory.

Though there was tension between Punk and Roman throughout the match and during the aftermath, the duo eventually shook hands. Following this, Punk approached Paul Heyman, mouthed "one time", and informed the 'Wise Man' that he'd be cashing in on his promised favour when the time came.

Said favour was a hook that facilitated Punk's involvement in the match. Heyman had brought his former managerial client to the OG Bloodline after selling him on the idea with the favour. Fans will have to speculate on what, exactly, was promised for now, but WWE has a tendency to pay these things off in its current creative era. Long-term, it'll likely come back around.
