Cody Rhodes: "Pat McAfee Is Trying To Get A Job In AEW Every Other Day"

Cody Rhodes has claimed that he is "pretty sure" that Pat McAfee is "trying to get a job at AEW like every other day."
The AEW EVP made this comment during today's pre-Revolution media call, doing so while answering a question from WrestleZone's Bill Pritchard relating to tonight's Dynamite bout pitting Cody and Red Velvet against NBA star Shaquille O'Neal and Jade Cargill.
Pritchard referenced McAfee's response to Shaq claiming tonight's contest will outdo every other celebrity match in wrestling history. Rhodes called Pat's comments "bizarre" for the reason stated above, but said that he loved Shaq's claims, adding that he hopes they can set a new standard for celebrity crossover bouts.
McAfee has already responded to Rhodes' claims, doing so on his SiriusXM show:-
"I'd like it to be known that is not true. I've actually contributed retirement more than I have contemplated going to AEW. I have been in a little bit of a spat with Rusev, an old friend of ours now Miro. He came after us then we kinda flipped the script on him a little bit and Shaq obviously, I do have to watch that match tonight, but aside from that I am not... I would like that to be very clear."
McAfee wrestled twice for WWE in 2020, winning rave reviews for a remarkable performance opposite Adam Cole at TakeOver: XXX in August, before returning for WarGames in December, teaming with Danny Burch, Oney Lorcan, and Pete Dunne against the Undisputed Era.
