Cody Rhodes teamed with Nightmare Family prospect Lee Johnson on last night's episode of AEW Dynamite, defeating Peter Avalon and Cezar Bononi when Johnson scored his first AEW pinfall in 30 attempts by rolling the former up for the decisive 1-2-3.

'The Prince of Pro Wrestling' was out of the ring selling a shoulder injury while this was going on. This came after what looked like a worked injury during the picture-in-picture break, with Rhodes selling the joint before tagging out soon after, letting Johnson clean house.

Arn Anderson has now provided an update on Cody's status through this week's Coach's Corner video:-

Above, 'The Enforcer' claims that Rhodes "dinged" his shoulder while wrestling Avalon and Bononi. AEW has since issued the following statement to Wrestling Inc.:-

“Following the recording of Coach’s Corner, it was confirmed by the AEW medical team that Cody Rhodes suffered a slight tear of his left rotator cuff during his tag team match on Dynamite. His current status is TBD.”

This should be taken with the usual pinch of salt, of course, as working injury angles is pro wrestling 101. Still, the timing is interesting: Cody is set to team with Red Velvet against Jade Cargill and Shaquille O'Neal on 3 March.
