Cody Rhodes To 'Speak About My Future With WWE' On Raw
American Nightmare's Instagram post gets people talking on social media.
Cody Rhodes sparked an online furor Saturday when he posted on Instagram that he would "speak about my future with WWE and what may be next for me" on this upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw.
Rhodes failed to finish the story and lost his Undisputed WWE Championship match at WrestleMania 39, falling to Roman Reigns after Bloodline interference. The following night on Raw, he confronted Reigns and Solo Sikoa, and after not getting a rematch for the title, challenged them to a tag match. Brock Lesnar answered the call to be his partner, but turned on him seconds before the main event, battering him all over ringside.
The title loss caused an uproar among fans and critics alike, many of whom felt like it was an inexplicable swerve or delay in the story at a point at which Cody was the hottest he'd ever been in his career, in front of the largest audience (in person and watching on TV) he'd ever had.
Rhodes' Instagram post -- in which he said he made no excuses for his loss and thanked countless WWE personnel and others -- is sure to get people talking, and it likely could keep him hot on the front burner with fans.

Already, the post has sparked conversation about whether we're seeing the birth of the WWE version of the "Codyverse," the AEW alternate universe in which Rhodes' angles seemed to exist. Some speculated that he could offer the same stipulation he did in AEW for a Roman rematch: if he loses, he can't challenge for the WWE world title again.
We should note that Rhodes himself has previously confirmed that he's been signed to a "full multi-year commitment, not a part-time deal" with WWE, so any online speculation or gossip otherwise about his WWE future is just foolish.
Rhodes closed his lengthy post by saying, "I want to be your champion. This Monday I hope to speak about my future with WWE and what may be next for me." We'll find out what's next for the American Nightmare, and whether this keeps fan interest high for him and his quest.
