The professional wrestling landscape could shift dramatically when Cody Rhodes and the rest of The Elite announce what their future holds in 2019, but it sounds like 'The American Nightmare' has already rebuffed WWE.

Per the man himself during a recent live edition of Bruce Prichard's Something To Wrestle podcast, Cody "passed on the WWE offer a few weeks ago."

This should add fuel to the AEW fire. As reported last month, a series of trademarks tied with a new company have been filed with links to the billionaire Khan family. Given the branding 'ALL OUT,' 'All Elite Wrestling,' etc.) this has led to speculation that Cody, The Young Bucks & co. are behind the move, though this remains unconfirmed.

The Elite's existing New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Honor contracts expire in January 2019. On top of this, the up-and-coming Hangman Page recently rejected a new ROH deal. It looks increasingly like they're about to start their own promotion, particularly with Rhodes rebuffing WWE.

Cody and his cohorts have been heavily linked with Vince McMahon's promotion over the past few years. This now seems to be off the table, so let's hope for more exciting developments from The Elite in 2019.
