Colby Corino Reportedly Signs With WWE
After much speculation, the second-generation star is now reported to have signed with WWE.
Following on from reports towards the end of last year, Colby Corino has now reportedly signed with WWE.
As per Cassidy Haynes at Bodyslam.net, Corino is believed to have signed with WWE earlier this week.
The second-generation star partook in a WWE tryout at the end of January, and this was an individual tryout rather than the usual group tryouts. Likewise, Corino's signing is a standalone one rather than being as part of a new class of Performance Center recruits.
Wrapping up his independent dates, Colby competed for North Carolina's PWF last night, and the 26-year-old is now expected to report to NXT imminently.
One of the few bright spots of the National Wrestling Alliance across the past two years, Corino officially became a free agent as of 1 January. A Philadelphia native, Colby is of course the son of former ECW World Champion and NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion Steve Corino, who these days serves as a trainer and producer for the NXT brand. Likewise, Colby's aunt is Allison Danger - who herself briefly worked as an NXT coach - and his uncle is Ares, who at one point teamed with Claudio Castagnoli.
Interestingly, Colby Corino technically made his in-ring date back in 2001 at the age of just five, teaming with his father to take on Don Montoya and Reckless Youth.
