Conor McGregor & Floyd Mayweather Reportedly Agree Financial Terms On Fight
Is the mega-fight finally about to happen?
Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather's "will they/won't they" saga may finally be coming to an end.
The UFC Lightweight Champion has had his sights set firmly on the boxing megastar for months, and while the fight was once thought to be a fanciful daydream, odds of it actually happening have just gone through the roof.
Why? Because according to a new report in the Irish Sun, McGregor and Mayweather have finally agreed to financial terms. A delay from a third party (assumed to be the UFC) is the only thing stopping them from signing a fight agreement, with sources close to McGregor's home gym suggesting the fight could be announced within the next couple of weeks.
McGregor hasn't fought for the UFC since becoming Lightweight Champion in November, and has nothing on his schedule as he awaits the birth of his first child. Mayweather, meanwhile, has been "retired" since September 2015.
McGregor will soon fly to Las Vegas, Nevada as part of a settlement for an incident prior to UFC 202, and is expected to finalise the details there and then. There are no details on the potential numbers, but it's sure to be lucrative: UFC President Dana White's offer of $25 million per fighter was laughed-off in January.
