Daniel Bryan "90% Likely" To Sign New WWE Contract
The former GM's current deal expires in September.
Daniel Bryan's WWE future has been a hot button topic throughout the summer, but it looks like the former SmackDown General Manager is on the verge of re-signing.
This is according to the man himself, who, during a recent appearance on the Sam Roberts Wrestling Podcast, claimed that the chances of him staying are "90-plus percent," adding that "it's very likely I'll re-sign with WWE."
Bryan current deal expires in September. His future's lack of clarity had led to speculation that he'd leave WWE in favour of New Japan, Ring Of Honor, and the independents, but news that he'd be featured heavily in the upcoming WWE 2K19 game shortened those odds.
Though he'd previously indicated that he wouldn't stay with WWE if he wasn't allowed to wrestle, Bryan's return from retirement seems to have changed his mind. He was cleared to compete again in March, then fought in his first match in three years at WrestleMania 34, and is now set to face long-time rival The Miz at SummerSlam.
Bryan did note that he had yet to officially re-sign as of the show's recording date (6 August), but his words will offer encouragement to those hoping he sticks around.
