One week removed from a controversial botch that saw Brie Bella legitimately concuss Liv Morgan with two mistimed kicks to the head, Daniel Bryan has leaped to his wife's defence on social media, speaking out on the perceived cyberbulling she has been subjected to since the incident.

In the first of a long string of tweets, Bryan said: "I'm proud of how strong my wife is. After accidentally injuring Liv Morgan last week, the first time Bri's (sic) ever hurt another performer, she's been subject (sic) to a constant barrage of social media attacks. Almost every wrestler has accidentally hurt someone..."

Daniel then went on to describe old incidents in which he inadvertently concussed Randy Orton and Nigel McGuinness in the ring. By the end, he'd thanked everyone who'd supported Bella privately and publicly, wishing Morgan a swift recovery.

His points are valid. While the argument that Brie has been demonstrably unsafe since returning, it should be possible to say this while also acknowledging that cyberbullying is inherently awful. Let's hope the wrestling world moves on, Bella never makes a similar mistake, and Liv is back in action soon.
