Daniel Bryan has quickly settled into a strong rhythm since returning to action at WrestleMania 34, putting consinstently good-to-great TV matches against opponents as diverse as Jeff Hardy and Rusev.

But WWE are yet to pull the trigger on a major push, and if PWStream are to be believed, there's a good reason for this: Bryan is yet to agree terms on a new WWE contract.

The former SmackDown General Manager's current deal would see him leave on September 1st. As such, WWE are apparently reticent to invest significant time into Daniel, who could conceivably leave the company this summer.

Bryan has endured middling fortunes since returning. He's currently feuding with Big Cass, and lost his first Money In The Bank qualifier to Rusev. He'll have another chance at making the ladder match when he faces Samoa Joe tonight, but the outcome is a coin-flip, and Daniel's victory is far from guaranteed.

Never shy of teasing a WWE departure while sidelined, Bryan leaving the company may send shockwaves through the wrestling business. As one of the sport's biggest names, he'd be a huge asset to any promotion who can afford him, though it'd be surprising to see him walk away from WWE's financial security.
