Daniel Garcia has teased a change in direction in All Elite Wrestling following last week's loss to CM Punk, which took place on Rampage (8 October).

The 23-year-old gave his veteran opponent plenty of trouble via the concentrated leg work that effectively took the Go To Sleep away from him. Despite this, Garcia tapped out to the Anaconda Vice after being dropped with a piledriver, rubber-stamping his loss in around 14 minutes.

This latest defeat means Garcia is now 0-5 on AEW's TNT shows. He tweeted the following over the weekend, hinting at a change:-

Though Garcia debuted for AEW on Dark back in September 2020, then returned for more YouTube tapings the following May, he was introduced to TNT alongside 2point0, who partnered him against Darby Allin, Eddie Kingston, and Jon Moxley on Dynamite's 4 August episode. Jeff Parker and Matt Lee have been by Garcia's side ever since, including for last Friday's loss to Punk.

Bryan Danielson said the following of the much-touted prospect in an interview with WFAN Sports Radio last month:-

“On the flip side, Daniel Garcia, as opposed to doing the high-flying stuff, is a very technical-based wrestler, and I was like, ‘Ooh, that reminds me of myself when I was his age’."

2point0 have since attempted to ward Danielson away from their "son". Whether or not any of this will factor into Garcia's "change" remains to be seen.
