Charlotte Flair and Rhea Ripley pulled off what appeared to be an attempted double turn at WWE Hell In A Cell 2021 last night, with Ripley going heel, and her Raw Women's Title challenger moving in the opposite direction.

The duo worked a heated bout for Ripley's title in the night's second-to-last match. It came to an end following a prolonged assault on Rhea's leg by Charlotte, prompting the Raw Women's Champion to enter desperation mode, bashing Flair with a panel from the announce table.

This left the referee with no choice but to call a disqualification in Charlotte's favour.

Flair and Ripley kept scrapping after the bell, with Rhea gaining the upper hand, nailing Riptide on her felled foe. After arrogantly calling for the referee to declare that she was still the champion, Ripley copped to deliberately getting herself disqualified while she was making her exit. Meanwhile, jeers reigned down as Kevin Dunn furiously pounded the ThunderDome's "boo.wav" button in the production area.

WWE's follow up on this should be enlightening, as the finish and double-turn appeared to suggest a feud that hasn't been a critical hit could continue beyond Hell In A Cell 2021.
