Doctors Advise That Superstar Billy Graham Should Be Taken Off Life Support
Sad news emerging around the declining health of former WWE Champion.
Doctors have suggested to the wife of Wayne Coleman (Superstar Billy Graham) that the former WWE Champion should be taken off life support.
The news was reported by - amongst others - Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, who said;
"Very sad news today with the doctors advising Valerie Coleman, the wife of Superstar Billy Graham (Wayne Coleman) that they believe he needs to be taken off life support. I just want to send whatever good wishes and prayers to Valerie today. She and Wayne have been together since she was 19 years old and through the good and the bad, he has been her life. So I can understand her asking that the life support stay on, but this was the first time it really feels like we have to face the inevitable."
Graham remains one of the most influential figures in North American wrestling history, with everything from his promo and in-ring style to his attires and facial hairs being borrowed, mimicked and paid homage to by the likes of Hulk Hogan, Jesse Ventura, Dusty Rhodes, Scott Steiner and countless others.
He became an extremely controversial figure in the latter stages of his career and post-retirement as steroids became a significant part of the conversation on wrestling's underbelly for the first time, making headlines for other reasons beyond big matches well into his 50s and 60s. This didn't get in the way of a WWE Hall Of Fame induction in 2004, such was the scale of his influence.
