Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode Traded To WWE Raw
Ziggler scored a WWE Title shot on his first night back on Raw.
Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode have both been traded to WWE Raw, the promotion has announced.
This went down on last night's show. WWE Champion Drew McIntyre opened the broadcast to cut a promo but was interrupted by 'The Show-Off,' alongside whom he re-debuted on the main roster in 2018. Ziggler quickly broke the news that he and Roode, his current tag partner, had been moved from SmackDown to Raw, then took credit for McIntyre's recent success after bringing up their history.
Dolph asserted that Drew owed him one and issued a WWE Title challenge for the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view, which McIntyre gladly accepted. The bout is now official for 19 July.
Ziggler had been working alongside Mandy Rose, Otis, and Sonya Deville on SmackDown, making television most weeks. His last match saw him teaming with The Miz and John Morrison in a losing effort against Braun Strowman and Heavy Machinery on 12 June. Roode, meanwhile, hasn't appeared since March and is currently stranded in his native Canada following travel restrictions relating to the ongoing global health crisis.
There's no word on when Roode will be able to return, though we'll be seeing a lot more Ziggler in recent weeks.
