Dragon Lee Makes WWE Debut
NXT Roadblock marked the long-awaited WWE arrival of former AAA, ROH and NJPW star.
Dragon Lee has at long last debuted in WWE.
Appearing in the crowd during NXT Roadblock in the style of an old TakeOver surprise, Lee was there to smile and wave ahead of a formal in-ring debut on an as-yet-unannounced date.
The former AAA, ROH and NJPW star was announced as signed in January, but had been unable to appear due to visa issues up to this point. With NXT's Stand & Deliver set to take place over WrestleMania weekend, his in-ring bow will likely take place there, and presumably in a multi-man spectacle or possibly as Wes Lee's latest North American Championship open challenge recipient.
The contest in any guise will be Lee's first of 2023. His last match took place at AAA's Gira Aniversario XXX - Noche De Campeones on December 28th 2022 when his Hermanos Lee alongside Dralistico defeated FTR for the AAA World Tag Team Championships. Lee announced during the title celebrations that he would be signing with the company, confirming swirling rumours at the time. There had been heavy speculation around his debut thanks to Shawn Michaels requiring a surrogate to face Grayson Waller, but 'HBK' ultimately selected Johnny Gargano for the job.
