Drew Galloway Announces TNA Depature
The current TNA Grand Champion is on his way out.
Current TNA Impact Grand Champion Drew Galloway will not be signing a new contract with the company, and has announced his departure from the promotion via Twitter on Sunday night:-
A former WWE Intercontinental Champion, Galloway signed for TNA in January 2015, and became the company's World Heavyweight Champion in March 2016. He lost the title to Bobby Lashley a few months later, but captured the Grand Championship by defeating Moose in January. A pre-taped title rematch between will take place on this week's Impact, which should be Galloway's last match for the company.
As well as becoming a cornerstone for Impact Wrestling over the past two years, Galloway has flourished on the independent circuit since leaving WWE. The current WCPW World Champion has played a pivotal role for companies like EVOLVE and ICW since 2014, and is one of the most sought-after indie wrestlers in the world.
There's no word on Galloway's next move, though he will compete in the Scottish qualifying round for WCPW's 2017 Pro Wrestling World Cup in March, and a series of EVOLVE shows over WrestleMania weekend. He could soon be followed out the door by Matt and Jeff Hardy, whose TNA deals are set to expire later this week.
WCPW fans - don't forget you can see Drew Galloway defend the WCPW title against Will Ospreay next Monday night at Exit Wounds.
