Drew McIntyre has told Wrestling Inc that he used to panic whenever WWE plonked a promo script down in front of him during his first run. The Scot was so scared of getting something wrong that he'd obsessively study the sheet then recite it "like a robot".

It took being torn down and released by the company in 2014, then going away to dominate the independent circuit, for McIntyre to find himself. Now, during the same interview, big Drew is dishing out advice to recently-released wrestlers.

He wants to assure them that this is "not the end of the line".

McIntyre oozed class as he encouraged any released workers to find themselves outside the WWE bubble and then come back stronger. He did, and now he's a multi-time World Champion who has won Royal Rumbles, headlined WrestleMania and smashed other goals that once seemed impossible.

Drew recognises the need for released talents to "keep bettering themselves and start working on some negative areas that they weren’t willing to face before". That's important, because it'll breathe confidence into their bones.

Sage words from someone who lived their disappointment.
