Drew McIntyre Wants WWE Dream Match With Roman Reigns
Survivor Series is only two months away...
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre wants a "super match" with his Universal counterpart, Roman Reigns.
Speaking to Vibe & Wrestling's Vicente Beltrán, McIntyre said that he would love to wrestle SmackDown's 'Tribal Chief' to "create a dominant champion," putting Reigns over huge. Drew credited Roman for his longevity at the top of the card and recent change in attitude, calling him "bigger and badder than ever before," saying he is still WWE's marquee player. The Scotsman added that his current goal is to prove he can be the same "top, top guy like Reigns," saying that a title vs. title match could be "as big as it gets."
Survivor Series 2020 is now less than eight weeks away, meaning McIntyre could get his wish if the pay-per-view retains its long-running "brand warfare" theme. It's also worth noting that the timeframe is almost identical to Drew naming Randy Orton as his ideal SummerSlam opponent.
Last night's Clash of Champions show saw McIntyre and Reigns defend their World Titles against Orton and Jey Uso respectively. Hell In A Cell goes down on 25 October, so it's likely that each would have to get through at least one more defence before facing each other.
