Drew McIntyre will collide with Madcap Moss at WWE's Day 1 pay-per-view on 1 January.

The company announced that match following some shenanigans involving McIntyre's sword and Adam Pearce's desk on the latest SmackDown. Last week, Moss and his pal Happy Corbin were shown pushing the desk (which had Drew's sword "Angela" stuck in it) down the hallway.

This week, the fun-loving duo tried to prize "Angela" from the wood and keep "her" for themselves; yes, the saga to steal McIntyre's sword continues. It worked out so well for Jinder Mahal and his crew over on Raw, after all.

Seriously though, this bout with Moss is a bit of a lowly spot for someone the stature of Drew. Also, Corbin was the one who booked the match, not Pearce or Sonya Deville. That was an...interesting way to go about things.

McIntyre had been teaming against the pair with Jeff Hardy before the veteran was released from contract recently. WWE has since pivoted and decided that Drew taking on Happy and Madcap by himself is the way to go.
