EC3 Interview: Signing With ROH, Jay Briscoe, Controlling His Narrative, Leaving WWE, More
The former One Percenter feels right at home in Ring of Honor and has only scratched the surface.
After being held down for far too long, EC3 is finally in control of his own narrative and is doing some of the strongest work of his career to date as a result.
The two-time TNA World Heavyweight champion returned to his old IMPACT stomping grounds within months of getting released from WWE last April before winding up in Ring of Honor in the fall of 2020. He's been a pivotal part of the promotion's relaunch and has proven to be a fantastic pickup thus far.
This Friday at ROH's 19th Anniversary Show on pay-per-view and HonorClub, EC3 will wage war with Jay Briscoe, with who he's been embroiled in a heated rivalry for the better part of his ROH tenure. Their Grudge match was originally scheduled to take place at Final Battle in December but will mean more now that it's had even more time to be built up.
This will be a much more dangerous EC3 than fans are used to seeing, someone who has completely reinvented himself since his last formal one-on-one match in late 2019. With nothing left to lose and everything to gain, he has his sights set on not only elevating ROH but also taking the next step in his journey toward rewriting the narrative.
Ahead of the 19th Anniversary Show, EC3 spoke with WhatCulture about fighting Jay Briscoe, his decision to sign full-time with ROH, returning to IMPACT last summer, his last year in WWE, wrestling without an audience, what he's building with The Narrative, and more.
