It looks like Ethan Carter III is on his way back to Impact Wrestling.

This was seemingly confirmed through an angle run on last night's episode of Impact. Moose, who has declared himself the TNA Champion in the absence of Impact Champion Tessa Blanchard, defeated former LAX man Hernandez on the show. Rather than playing Moose's entrance theme, the promotion played a few seconds of EC3's instead.

The music then switched to Moose's theme, though it felt more like an angle than a production botch. EC3 could now become the latest TNA Original to challenge the big man for the strap.

Impact recently ran a vignette teasing the likes of Drake Maverick, Zack Ryder, Curt Hawkins, Rusev, Karl Anderson, and Luke Gallows all showing up in the promotion. It should be noted that the released WWE wrestlers' 90-day non-compete clauses expire just three days before the Slammiversary pay-per-view scheduled for 18 July, though Maverick has now re-upped with Vince McMahon's promotion.

EC3's career has never soared higher than when he was with Impact, where he was a two-time World Heavyweight Champion. Returning the promotion may be the best move for him at this difficult time.
