Edge Says He Will Never Compete In This WWE Gimmick Match Again
Which match type will Edge avoid for good once he returns to WWE?
Edge wished everyone a "happy TLC day" on Instagram this past Sunday, but then revealed that he'll never work the gimmick bout again.
The 'Rated-R Superstar' posted a picture from WWE's TLC 2010 event - there, he toppled Kane, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio to capture the old World Heavyweight Title. That, to date, marks the last time Edge worked the TLC stipulation.
A decade on, he has no plans to do so again.
Edge is currently on the sidelines rehabbing a triceps injury suffered over the summer when filming his "Greatest Wrestling Match Ever" with Randy Orton at Backlash. He's expected to return for WrestleMania 37 season though.
The Canadian has nothing left to prove in the TLC environment. He, alongside partner Christian, The Dudley Boyz and The Hardy Boyz, revolutionised the concept back at SummerSlam 2000. Since then, he has worked six other TLC bouts and earned five victories in the match type.
Edge plans to stop at seven appearances in total, and nobody can blame him for that. It's a minor miracle that he was able to return in 2020 at all.
