Edge Signs WWE Contract, Could Return At Royal Rumble 2020

Rated R-Superstar met with WWE's medical team in Pittsburgh.

Edge called time on his illustrious wrestling career in an emotional farewell back in 2011, following a neck injury which potentially threatened his mobility - and even if his life - if he risked another match.

Well, it seems miracles do happen, as it's now looking increasingly likely that, eight years on from his vertebraes fusing, the Rated R-Superstar could once more step back into the ring.

According to Mike Johnson, writing for PWInsider, the Canadian recently signed a new deal with the company that is said to have a "pretty nice upside". Precisely what does this new deal entail? It could be another match.

Johnson went on to reveal that Edge met with WWE officials in Pittsburgh - which just happens to be where the company's chief medical expert Dr. Joseph Maroon is situated. The plot thickens.

Edge has consistently denied on social media that he's returning to action, but there's a sizeable quantity of smoke billowing up from this alleged non-fire. At SummerSlam this past August, the Vikings' star speared Elias, after which he said on his podcast that he felt physically capable of working another match.
