Edge Will NOT Win WWE Royal Rumble 2020

Because Suplex City is clearly not a sensible place to visit for somebody with severe neck issues.

Even though the Rated-R Superstar is taking any opportunity he can to refute claims that his in-ring return is imminent, it’s still believed that Edge has indeed been cleared to climb back between the ropes and compete for WWE once again.

That said, don’t be expecting the WWE Hall of Famer to be the one to challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 36.

Courtesy of The Wrestling Observer, any talk of Edge facing Paul Heyman’s Beast at the Showcase of the Immortals is false. This comes after many have begun speculating that the returning multiple-time World Champion could be set to enter the Royal Rumble and set up a match against Lesnar for ‘Mania.

At this time, it’s supposedly yet to be decided who exactly will be facing Brock in Tampa this April. According to Dave Meltzer – who cites a trusted WWE source – there’s still a chance that Lesnar could face a more left-field choice than the usual main event suspects, although Meltzer states that the current WWE Champion will definitely not be facing Edge.

Considering that Edge had to retire due to neck issues leaving him one bad bump away from paralysis, it would be absolute idiotic to put him in the ring against Brock Lesnar and Suplex City if and when the Canadian does get officially cleared for an in-ring action.

With Lesnar having just last night been declared to enter the Royal Rumble at #1, expect the WWE Champion’s WrestleMania opponent to be made clear in the Rumble match on January 26th and its subsequent fallout.
