Edge's 10 Greatest WWE Moments

10. 2004 Singles Heel Turn

Edge's heel turn in the twilight of 2004 may have seemed insignificant at the time, but it marked the beginning of what would become one of the best singles runs in the history of WWE.

The turn was fueled by Edge's growing resentment, most prominently not being voted by the WWE fans for a World Heavyweight Championship match at Taboo Tuesday. Instead being voted into a World Tag Team Championship match with Chris Benoit as his partner, Edge abandoned Benoit during both that night's title match - which Benoit won on his own - and a rematch on Raw the next month.

Further than just being a heel turn, Edge adopted new attire, music and a completely different gimmick, planting the seeds for the Rated-R Superstar persona we all knew and loved. If it wasn't for this heel turn, Edge would have never accomplished half of what he did as a singles performer.
