Email From WWE Ref Contacting Matt Riddle's Accuser Candy Cartwright Over Cancelled Bookings Leaks
'Past issues' with another WWE talent wouldn't have made 'for an ideal work environment'.
In the wake of Matt Riddle's #SpeakingOut accuser Candy Cartwright (Samantha Tavel) recently filing a multi-million dollar lawsuit against him, WWE, Evolve and Gabe Sapolsky, a newly leaked email from a WWE referee has confirmed the reason why she was removed from various bookings.
In said lawsuit, Cartwright alleges that she was sexually assaulted by Riddle between 2017-2020, whilst they were also involved in a relationship. On top of this, the performer claims she had multiple bookings with Evolve and WWE. But, these were nixed due to the current SmackDown talent allegedly telling the companies not to book her after she refused to perform sexual acts on him.
Now, an email from current WWE referee Drake Wuertz, via David Bixenspan of Babyface V. Heel, has revealed the company's reason for cancelling her bookings. The email, sent on Friday, January 31 at 9.22pm, stated:
“Samantha I regret to inform you that we will have to cancel your booking for this Wednesday February 5th as well as March 4th. Apparently there were some past issues I wasn’t aware of with you and one of our talent that would not make for an ideal work environment. Good luck to you in your career. WWE recently commented on Cartwright's lawsuit, saying:
"WWE has not been served with a lawsuit by Ms. Tavel. However, if served, we will vigorously defend ourselves and contest it."
