WWE's official Twitter account has confirmed that at Thursday evening's NXT TV tapings, former TNA Heavyweight Champion Eric Young made his debut with the brand.

The account shared footage of Young making his entrance at Full Sail University to a warm reception.

Young recently left TNA after 12 years with the company. He first joined in 2004 as part of Team Canada, but spent years as both a babyface and a heel in his career there. During his tenure with the promotion, he captured every available championship, finally winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship from Magnus in 2014.

On March 19, Young and career-long rival/partner Bobby Roode both left TNA, with rumors suggesting that both men were frustrated over pay issues. Roode made an appearance at NXT TakeOver: Dallas, but he has not yet come to an agreement with WWE.

Triple H also shared the news of Young's arrival on social media, tweeting production truck images of monitors showing Young and NXT Champion Samoa Joe in the ring together. HHH touted this as a "new era" in NXT, though given James Storm's very brief tenure with the brand last year, there's no telling if Young has officially signed a deal.
