Every NJPW G1 Climax 28 Entrant Ranked From Least To Most Likely To Win

3. Kazuchika Okada

The deposed former IWGP Heavyweight Champion finds himself without gold for the first time in two years. It's an interesting position for Okada, who broke every record that mattered while on top, and the clearest indication of what comes next will likely come during the G1.

It seems unlikely that Gedo would book yet another Okada vs. Omega match for January 4th. As tremendus as their matches have been, NJPW won't want to risk diminishing returns, particularly with their most recent bout earning "greatest of all time" plaudits from multiple outlets. It's time to give that series a break.

But who's to say Omega will still be champion by Wrestle Kingdom? It's unlikely, but he could drop the gold at King Of Pro Wrestling or Power Struggle, thus preventing burnout on the seven-star rivalry. He's the company ace, the biggest star, and an objective business success as NJPW's top guy, and can never be ruled out in situations like this.
