Some men enter the G1 Climax to win, and others to have great matches, but Toru Yano? He's only here for the banter.

New Japan's resident court jester is there to break the flow of four-star matches. His antics provide variety, and a palate cleanser for the hyper-athletic mayhem around him, which can become gruelling after the first 5-6 days of breathless bangers.

The fans need a breather. Yano provides that, and while his antics aren't to everyone's tastes, he's a great spoiler, having upset the likes of Hiroshi Tanahashi and Ketsuyori Shibata over the years.
