15. Samoa Joe Vs. Finn Balor – Takeover: London

From the second that a high-pitched woman’s scream echoed throughout the arena, you just knew that this one was going to blow the roof off of the SSE Arena.

A ‘Jack the Ripper’ style demon Vs. The ‘Samoan Submission Machine’, both men at the top of their game and ready to fight for NXT’s greatest prize in front of one of the greatest crowds to have ever graced a WWE event. From the outset, both men were ready for a fight. Joe was the most motivated that he had been in years and it showed, with his series of stiff elbows, chops, punches and kicks sending shivers down viewer’s spines. Thanks to Balor’s incredible selling, violently convulsing his body whenever he was hit or slammed, the world was reminded that Joe is an absolute beast of a human.

The finish came with an appropriate amount of Shakespearean drama, with both titans battling upon the top rope, Joe fell and Balor drove a daggering Coup De Grace through his heart for the win. The sheer atmosphere of the match, coupled with such outstanding ring work made a perfect ending to a great night for NXT.
