When people talk of draws and what exactly an established, ageing star contributes to a promotion, Sting isn't mentioned anywhere near enough: his mere presence in TNA - and the loyal, hard graft he put in - legitimised it as a distant number two. He fell victim to the same bullsh*t they all did, what with the Last Rites match and him dressing up as, swerve, himself to fool Rob Van Dam. When he eventually left, a great deal of that quasi-big time atmosphere left with him, and he did so to job to Triple H.

Sting retired in 2016 when the severity of his spinal stenosis became known, leaving behind a legacy, that WWE could never bury, as one of the most white-hot popular babyfaces in modern wrestling.
