18. Eric Young Gets Killed Off (TNA)

Eric Young's bold Violent By Design faction was his bid to re-stamp a mark on the TNA/Impact Wrestling scene following a lowkey end to his WWE dreams. Then, in late-2022, everyone caught word that EY was WWE bound all over again (albeit this time under Triple H's watch), so TNA had to find a way to write him out of television.

Did nobody tell them about the trusty 'Loser Leaves Town' gimmick, no? Instead, on the 1 December 2022 episode of Impact, fellow Violent By Design member Cody Deaner stabbed Young, and it was made apparent that Eric hadn't survived being jabbed by the knife. Yes, Deaner had just murdered his faction leader on Impact programming.

Won't somebody please think of the children? Hopefully, it was a post-watershed production.

Seriously though, Young put on his best 'I'm totally dead, guys' eyes, and Cody was conflicted about what had just happened. Then, Eric darted off for another unfulfilling stint in WWE. When that ended, he needed something else to do in TNA. So, the promotion claimed that he'd actually lived through the stabbing after all. Imagine that!

TNA decided against picking things back up with Deaner. After all, if a man can't stab someone, face no consequences at all, then share a locker room with the same dude less than a full year later, then what can he do? Longtime TNA fans will know this isn't the last we'll see of the company on this list. Not by a long shot.

There's another train coming on down the tracks, so to speak.
