Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)
17. Mia Yim
Then: Reckoning sucked. There, it's been said. Being fair to Mia Yim, the entire Retribution angle was sucking wind almost as soon as it kicked off, and she certainly shouldn't take the brunt of the blame for it. WWE gave up on the 'Streets Of Rage'-esque goon squad quickly, then released Mia from her contract alongside lover Keith Lee in November 2021.
It was a dark time for the couple. They faced uncertainty, and there were still bills to be paid.
Now: Following her year long stint on the independents and in TNA, Triple H rehired Yim in November 2022. She wound up aligning with AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson in a revamped OC, but Mia's rebranding as Michin didn't actually do much for her career. She just sort of hung around in the background.
That's been a persistent problem with Michin ever since her return. It's obviously great that she's working, especially with the issues surrounding Lee back home, but WWE fans have never properly taken to the ex-Mia Yim or given her booming reactions whether she's babyface or heel.
She did do the honours for Chelsea Green when the new Women's United States Title was introduced, and she's latterly slid into a backup role (alongside B-FAB) for dominant Women's Champ and resident SmackDown bully Jade Cargill, but that's nonsensical given the fact both were...feuding with Jade before joining her.
Most expect FAB and Michin to become punching bags for Rhea Ripley during WrestleMania 42 season, then split from Cargill by the end of the year.
