Every WWE Release Of 2021 - Where Are They Now? (Five Years Later)

14. Zayda Ramier

Then: Booker T trained Zayda Ramier at his Reality Of Wrestling school/promotion in Houston, Texas before recommending her to WWE scouts. She'd been working for approx 3 years by the time she reached the big time, but things didn't really go as planned for Ramier at the Performance Center or on NXT.

A mere 5 matches later, she was let go in November 2021 following undisclosed medical issues.

Now: Zayda was one of many sacrificial lambs for then-TBS Champion Jade Cargill on the 9 February 2022 AEW Dynamite. After that match, she worked a bunch of matches on Dark (where else for workers coming out of the WWE system who didn't build up a head of steam there?!) and on the independent scene.

Tony Khan had signed Ramier to a contract when she later announced her intentions to step away from the pro wrestling industry. Citing mental and physical burnout, Zayda needed some time away to do other things and relax, but she'd make a one off return to the biz in June 2025.

AEW hasn't picked her back up, and neither has WWE, so it seems Ramier is destined to become a bit of a footnote in the history books. That match vs. Cargill, as well as NXT shots vs. Toni Storm, may be the only things she's remembered for. Without being cruel, that's if she's remembered by many fans at all.

The reality of wrestling (ahem) is that it's a tough industry that isn't right for everybody. There's no shame in admitting that, or going off to do something else. Fingers crossed Ramier is healthy and happy.
