If ever there was a case for two men both being the most vital cog of a Rumble match, its the 2006 event. Both Triple H and Rey Mysterio, who started the match together and both lasted over an hour, put in a phenomenal, if vastly different, performance. The Game was the cocksure bully who looked to dominate the match when possible, whilst Mysterio was the plucky underdog who did just enough to survive and get by before eventually getting the win. If pushed to pick between them, Id have to say that Rey just about shades it purely because of the great job he did as the ultimate underdog finally overcoming the odds and winning the Rumble in the memory of Eddie Guerrero. Sure, the use of Eddies name during this time can be seen as an unnecessary step that was cashing in on his death, but nonetheless, Rey Mysterios performance here deserves plenty of credit regardless of Guerreros name being championed as his storyline motivation. Simply put, Rey put on a masterclass in the art of being the quintessential underdog.
