I have a real soft-spot for the 1991 Royal Rumble event. It was the first WWF VHS I owned after all. The undercard featured one of the most underrated WWF matches in history in the shape of The Rockers vs. The Orient Express, a true classic that everyone should go back and find, and Sgt. Slaughter ended The Ultimate Warrior's World Championship reign in shocking fashion. The Rumble match itself was also a lot of fun. Greg Valentine puts in a bizarrely good performance, entering at number three and lasting 44 minutes before being dumped by Hulk Hogan. Saying that, he didn't actually eliminate anyone himself, so maybe it wasn't such a good performance. Rick Martel continued his early streak of being a Royal Rumble marathon man, lasting 51 minutes and making the final five once again. The match also featured the iconic elimination of Bushwacker Luke, in the only moment of the Bushwackers WWF career that wasn't utterly lame. Hulk Hogan would come out on top (because it was 1991 and it was the WWF) eliminating Earthquake and Brian Knobs (yes, The Nasty Boy) in the final three.
