Tonight's episode of WWE Raw goes down in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the only thing announced for the card thus far is a WWE Title match pitting Big E against challenger Bobby Lashley.

This is a product of last night's Extreme Rules 2021 pay-per-view. Lashley and E were on opposing sides of a six-man tag pitting The New Day against Lashley, AJ Styles, and Omos. E pinned Bobby after the former WWE Champion accidentally nailed Styles with a spear, hitting the Big Ending for the three-count.

Later, Lashley cut a backstage promo, calling E out as a "chicken" and a "coward", challenging him to the Raw match. E replied by saying he'd be waiting in the ring at 8 PM, meaning the bout will open Raw.

This comes two weeks after E took advantage of Lashley's wounded, tired state to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase, becoming WWE Champion for the first time.

WWE has composed the following blurb for the match:-

The WWE Championship rematch you have been waiting for is here. After The New Day triumphed over Bobby Lashley, AJ Styles & Omos in an impromptu Six-Man Tag Team Match at WWE Extreme Rules, The All Mighty was livid. The former WWE Champion laid down the challenge for Big E in response to the defeat, and it is official. The challenge was eagerly accepted, and now Big E will defend his WWE Title to kick off Raw against the fuming Lashley. Who will emerge victorious as WWE Champion?

Fallout from Extreme Rules is to be expected as well, though WWE isn't yet hyping anything beyond E vs. Lashley.
