In this week's most ridiculous wrestling story, former WWE announcer Hugo Savinovich has sensationally claimed that current NXT star Karrion Kross was once a mafia-sponsored gun for hire.

Speaking on a live stream conducted by the Lucha Libre Online Facebook page, Savinovich claimed, amongst other things, that Kross was a "real-life mercenary" before making it big in professional wrestling, adding that he used to do "dirty jobs" for organised crime groups.

"He's a warrior, he's an athlete that was once a hired murderer," said Hugo. "I'm telling you, this is the real thing."

Savinovich also had kinder words for Kross and partner Scarlett. "Now, he's so passionate about wrestling and so in love with his girlfriend, Scarlett. I love my friend, we have a great friendship. God bless him and bless his love."

Kross and Savinovich know each other from working together in Mexico's AAA promotion, with Hugo claiming to have helped Karrion tweak his WWE character as he believes Kross feels regret over signing with the promotion.

Savinovich is known for making wild, outlandish claims over social media, so everything he says should be taken with a massive pinch of salt - if not outright distrust. A crazy story nonetheless.
